    There is a couple issues with Q4 and lag.First is your vid card...think it's goin to take a 6600 at least to run worth a damn.I just did a upgrade(whole system) but I was running a Ti4600 and had wicked vid lag.With a single 6600GT it runs killer in multi.There is also a issue with the in game browser http://www.forumplanet.com/planetquake/topic.asp?fid=12913&tid=1769823 check this out.
    I dont know how many of you were around when Q3 first came out.I got the game the day it first came out and played the test before that...but it played just about like Q4 does now.
    Give it time things will improve.

    Yeah, I suppose when we can tweak the models, and some mods and patches come out, the game will get a lot better.
    I'm running a 6600GT, and MP is pretty good. My framerates are def. workable. THanks for the info, SMAK!

    Hope I'm not stealing SmakFu's thunder but he has come up with a bit of info on modified maps which allow slower machines to run Q4 in higher resolutions and FPS. I put the links on the main page at www.damnlan.com ... We played them tonight and it seems to work...Even on his wifes P4 1.8 and Geforce Ti4600. Check it out

    Yes even Andramada's system ran them fine.Theses maps have a bunch of the ambiant light turned off in them.Here is the post I found them in http://www.esreality.com/?a=post&id=923799 You need to set the r_lightdetaillevel its tells you how in the readme that comes with the mappack.Andramada's system runs 63fps almost all the time in these maps.

    The true test would be to see if your 60fps would hold up online with 6+ ppl. Good luck finding ppl to play with on custom servers, since most ppl can't connect to such servers due to lack of an autodownload feature. Yes, I'm still pissed about that! Evil or Very Mad
